Benefits of Warm Winter Scents

by Inge-Mari Horn 29 Jun 2021

Winter is here and our cool summer wear has been replaced with warm coats and thick socks to fend off the biting cold.  As our clothing, food and beauty regimen adjust to the seasons, so should our perfumes. Fragrances are seasonal and some accords work better in different seasons.

With the change in weather, also comes the change in our immune system, which means we are more prone to pesky colds and viruses.  With that being said, there are certain ingredients that can be found in perfumes that are considered to have health benefits for the immune system, leaving you not only smelling great, but feeling great too.

Ingredients that are great for your health:

  1. Lemon: Lemon is a great stress reliever and helps clear your nasal passages. Due to its antiseptic properties, it can also help to restore the skin’s natural balance and reduce excess sebum.
  2. Peppermint: Peppermint is known for its antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It can aid in alleviating common colds, headaches, and sinus infections.
  3. Lavender: Lavender is one of the most popular ingredients commonly used for a variety of health benefits. It is useful to treat insomnia and headaches. Furthermore, it soothes the nervous system and relieves nausea.
  4. Cinnamon: Cinnamon is a highly concentrated source of antioxidants. It is a great ingredient to fight viruses, relieves depression and stimulates the immune system.
